Holly Hunter is an American producer and actress who has been recognized for her high-quality performance in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with several awards for her work, including an Oscar. The accomplished actress started her career in acting on the stage by performing in a myriad of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. From the time she was a child she's always been enthusiastic in the field of acting. She portrayed Helen Keller as a fifth-grade student in a school production. Following a bout of Mumps, she was deaf on one side the ear. This was not enough to stop her desire to be an actress. In her early years, she studied drama in college and moved to New York City from Pittsburgh in order to achieve her goals. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and the pair collaborated in Broadway Crimes of the Heart the first movie Hunter made. Her first role in film came after she relocated in Los Angeles. Her work spans over 30 years, and she's been featured in a variety of TV films as well as series and films. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star as well as the Women in Film Lucy Award.
