Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is an American actress and producer. She is gaining recognition for her exceptional roles in films such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Piano, as well as The Incredibles. Holly Hunter won many awards and awards, among them the Oscar for her movie Piano. At a young age her acclaimed actress started performing on stage in several Broadway or Off Broadway productions. Passionate about acting since her school days she played Helen Keller in a play in fifth grade. The mumps that she contracted left her deaf and blind in one ear. But she didn't let this to stop her from becoming an actor. When she was a teenager she studied drama, and eventually moved into New York City. She met Beth Henley in an elevator and they collaborated to make Broadway Crimes of the Heart, Hunter's first film. She relocated into Los Angeles and tried to get movie roles. For Swing Shift, she landed a role as a support. Holly Hunter has been in numerous television series, films and movies over the course of her 30-year career. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
